Our Mission
The primary
goal of the chapter is to advocate, educate, and support the hard of hearing
community of greater Sacramento and surrounding communities in their life-long
effort to establish and maintain an effective, highly-visible presence within
the Sacramento area. This means a consistent chapter commitment to
establish a high-quality way of life for all hard of hearing citizens in
our community.
The Chapter
The chapter
is the local site for the only national non-profit organization devoted
entirely to the needs of the hard-of-hearing people in the Sacramento County
area. The acronym "SHHL" stands for "Self-Help for Hearing Loss". The chapter has monthly meetings held the second Saturday
(except for July & August )at the Nor Cal Center for Deafness and Hard of
Hearing, which is located at 4508 Roseville Road in North Highlands, CA. It is
located just on Myrtle Avenue off of Watts Avenue( behind the new Cargo Largo
discount superstore )just beyond the Interstate 80 freeway going to Reno, NV.
